In Spring 2008 the World Heritage Project Road Show toured Cumbria with lots more information. The road show gave everyone a chance to find out more about the project and more importantly to have a say in how the management plan should be written. It is important for the Partnership to hear the views of as many people as possible before the management plan process begins. The partnership will seek the support of the Cumbrian business community and the voluntary sector over the coming months.
The Partnership employed a Project Director in late August 07 and set aside a three year project budget of £129k per year to deliver the community engagement activity, the production of the nomination document, the management plan and the research and analysis which will accompany both. The timetable of activity planned ensures this process has benefits for Cumbria at every stage.
