What problems might World Heritage status bring?

It would be naïve not to admit that there is a perception that World Heritage status could bring more bureaucracy or extra planning regulations, (questions which are answered above). This could be true in parts of the UK that are not within a National Park. More work is being done to look at both the advantages and possible disadvantages of World Heritage Status, however initial findings suggest effective management planning is the key to delivering benefit to as wide an area as possible by making the most of a prestigious international accolade.
