How the Competition Worked

What makes the Lake District special to you?

We looked for a delegation of 4-6 young people (aged 14-18) to represent Cumbria and the Lake District.

To enter the competition the group needed to submit a single piece of work focusing why the Lake District is special to them and link it to ONE World Heritage theme. Remember the Lake District is bidding to be a World Heritage site. The themes were:

  • World Heritage and Tourism
  • World Heritage and Identity
  • World Heritage and Environment
  • World Heritage, Culture and Peace

The work could be a brochure, a poster, a collage, a podcast or a poem and it had to reach us no later than 5pm on the 31st March 09.
