Natwest has a long and established reputation in Cumbria with an extensive network of branches and business centres across the county. As business partners to many small and medium sized enterprises, including specialists managers in the Agricultural sector alongside the many and varied other business sectors, we are committed to the area and its future prosperity. Since 2001 we have seen a number of issues across many of these sectors and some significant challenges faced by the county and its people. It is testament to everyone within the Cumbrian area and their determination to succeed that such issues have been faced and overcome.

From our own perspective, with an experienced team from cashiers in branches to our personal and business managers we have been able to support our customers through these times and we truly believe that the Lake District is well placed to prosper in the future. We are therefore delighted to have been asked to take part in the process to progress the World Heritage Site bid and this is something which will undoubtedly raise the profile of the area and highlight the many wonderful things which Cumbria has to offer.

The World Heritage Bid, whilst still at an early stage, will open new opportunities for many businesses and we are looking forward to working with our existing, and new clients, to progress these opportunities. In addition we are pleased to be working alongside the other parties involved with the bid, and in particular the private sector sponsors – First Milk and United Utilities to bring this project to life. Our Area Directors will be working closely with the project director and his entire team to provide some business input and contribute to the overall process. Our team on the ground will also be working to assist wherever possible and you will see us at some of the Roadshow events throughout March and April.

We are also hopeful of bringing together some further events, alongside our co-sponsors, at some of the many County Events later in the year.
